Description

This is an OFFICIAL MAJOR LEAGUE (Selig) Baseball signed by 1955 World Series Champion and former Dodgers outfielder GEORGE "SHOTGUN" SHUBA in blue pen. The signature rates a 9/10. The ball itself is ever so lightly toned and very nice. Please look at pictures for further detail. I am happy to send/post more pictures upon request, if needed. DID YOU KNOW? Shuba is often remembered for his symbolic role in breaking down Major League Baseball's tenacious "color barrier ". While playing for the AAA Montreal Royals in 1946, Shuba offered a congratulatory handshake to teammate Jackie Robinson , who went on to become the first African American to play in a major league game since the late 19th century. The moment was captured in a well-known photograph dubbed A Handshake for the Century for featuring the first interracial handshake in a professional baseball game. Shuba died in 2014 at age 89. This ball was originally purchased through a reputable auction house and I will GUARANTEE THE AUTHENTICITY of the signature with a FULL money back promise if PSA or JSA happens to think otherwise. I have been collecting, buying and selling baseball autographs for close to 40 years and am considered an expert in the field. Take a look at the photos, consider my 100% POSITIVE feedback and BID WITH CONFIDENCE. Please also take a look at my other auctions for more great signed baseballs! I price ALL of my baseballs to SELL...usually lower priced than all other comparable balls on eBay at the time of listing (seriously...check it out!). I do list with a "Best Offer" option as again, I am here to SELL these balls, even though I feel my initial pricing is fair. If you have a reasonable amount in mind, please send an offer. Worst thing that could happen is for me to decline the offer. If I counter the offer, it means we're close...let's work together to make it happen. Thanks for looking! Brandon
